How to get to Amsterdam?
Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. For most people, this city is more associated with a large number of coffee shops and the Red Light District. Meanwhile, it is a beautiful city with interesting architecture and hundreds of kilometers of picturesque canals and bridges, as well as a rich culture.
Whatever makes you visit this truly amazing European city, in this article we will tell you how to get to Amsterdam, spending a minimum of money and effort.
The most expensive, but at the same time the fastest way to move:
- Schiphol Airport is located 17.5 km south-west of the capital of Holland. From Moscow to Amsterdam from Sheremetyevo fly direct regular daily flights KLM 900 (5: 40-7: 15), Aeroflot 2550 (10: 15-12: 00), Aeroflot 2694 (14: 45-16: 30), KLM 904 ( 18: 00-19: 40), as well as KLM flight 902 (14: 25-16: 30) on Saturdays and Sundays and Aeroflot flight 2192 (20: 30-22: 15) on all days except Wednesday. In addition, there are a huge number of flight options with transfers.
- Except from Moscow, you can fly to Amsterdam from St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar and Novosibirsk.
You can’t get to Amsterdam from Russia by train. It is necessary to consider only options with transfers. One of them is as follows:
- Buy a train ticket 0233, departing from Belorussky railway station at 07:44 and move to Hannover Hbf station (08:18, travel time - 26 h 34 min).
- In Hanover, get to the airport and take the commuter train to the station of the German railway zone G. From there, there is a railway connection with 18 cities, including with Amsterdam.
Such a trip, although it takes much more time, will be cheaper and much more interesting than an ordinary flight.
Another cheaper way to travel is to buy a sightseeing tour by bus. Such tours are often organized during holidays and during the holiday season from many cities of Russia.
But some private companies also organize regular passenger flights to Amsterdam without a sightseeing program and accommodation. An example of the route of one of such carriers is the company MEZHREGIONAVTOTRANS: Moscow-Smolensk-Minsk-Brest-Salzgitter-Bielefeld-Dortmund-Bochum-Daysburg-Amsterdam.
