However, they must become interested, because at first they will most certainly be very critical: this is our national mentality. In terms of the plan it is better to write everything point by point in order to know what to go to immediately after the introduction. And do not be afraid during the presentation periodically check with the written: in the end, no one cares,what pieces of paper are laid out in front of you and where you look all the time, but here these pieces of paper can serve you well.

Another important point: do not overestimate the value of slides and other illustrative material. The main mistake that the speakers often make is that they turn the presentation into a slide show and distribution of additional materials to the audience. Remember that the presentation will only be successful if you talk with enthusiasm. Moreover, the speech (which must be alive) must be supported by appropriate facial expressions and gestures. Feel free to move, address the audience: visual and emotional contact with the audience is very important.Consider two cases, two typical presentations, which in the set can be observed every day in different points of the planet.

The first presentation is conducted by a person who has prepared a lot of illustrative material and statistics, but at the same time, without paying any attention to those who are sitting in the hall, he pronounces the memorized text in a monotonous voice or, even worse, simply reads. The second presentation is structured as follows: the speaker has some slides, a brochure with statistical calculations, but he holds a completely different speech. First, he does not read, but tells, only occasionally referring to the plan. Secondly, the way he tells is important: his eyes are burning, he eagerly snatches interested people from the crowd and addresses personally to them, to everyone.

In addition, he is not shy to turn to the hall with questions, even in some cases to vote on a particular item of the report. Perhaps the idea of ​​the first speaker is even more interesting, but the presentation of the material is such that it is unlikely that anyone will be seriously interested in what he offers. And if these presentations are held on similar topics, you can be sure that 80% (or even more) of potential buyers of goods or consumers of the service will turn to the second speaker.

Some of you may have heard about the presentation rule known as 10/20/30. The numbers here mean the following: 10 slides should be submitted in 20 minutes (the ideal time to hold the main part of the presentation), and the text should be written in font size 30. Studies have shown that the information contained in more than ten slides, the audience will be very difficult to learn. If there are a lot of slides, it means that you didn’t have enough time (desire, strength) to prepare for the report. Therefore, you should reflect on what should be depicted on the slides, highlighting the really important information.

Now about the time. Why 20 minutes? Everything is simple here: as experts note, it is during this time that the speaker needs to “crack down” on the oral part of the presentation, that is, on the story. As a rule, an hour is given to the presentation. But immediately drop 10 minutes on the preparation of equipment and material. And if the report is interesting (and we don’t need anything else), then the last half hour will be devoted to answering questions from the audience after the presentation itself.
