Finally, the “cheapest” piece is the pawn. It goes only forward and only vertically, one step corresponds to one cell. Unlike other figures, it hits not directly along the trajectory of its movement, but one field forward diagonally. It is acceptable that the first move was not one, but two spaces ahead. It can be taken by the opponent's pawn, if your pawn and with it stood on the same horizontal line after you made it move two fields forward at once. It is enough for the enemy to go diagonally to the cell located behind your pawn in order to remove it from the board. Most often, pawns are used to create a defensive structure - a kind of “fortification”.They are the weakest of all the figures, however, when one of them reaches the opposite edge of the board, it is replaced with any other figure.
Learning to play

During the game, three situations can arise: stalemate, check and checkmate. In a stalemate position, the player is not able to make any move that complies with the rules, although the king has been given the check. "Under the Shah" is the king, located on a bat cell. This means that you need to either remove him to a safe place, or cover up with another figure, or knock out the enemy figure that has created a dangerous situation. The tournament ends with a draw or win of one of the participants. The victory is fixed when the checkmate is obviously obscene, one of the opponents gave up or has delayed the time allotted to him. There is a technical victory: the opponent did not show up for the bout, interrupted the game, did not obey the judge, etc. A draw is a stalemate, there is a shortage of pieces to continue the game, repeating one position three times and a contractual draw. Also, a draw is announced if one of the players has time to end, but his opponent does not have enough figures to make a sure victory, or when both sides made over 50 moves without achieving the necessary advantage.
