What is kombat?
Combat - is an acronym, that is, an abbreviation of the combination "battalion commander" or "battery commander". The word "battalion commander" is used to define the service category or the person holding this position. This category of military hierarchy appeared in the Red Army in 1918-1935. This position is equivalent to the commander of a squadron division or a ship of the 3rd rank. The eponymous photograph of the Soviet photographer Max Alpert, depicting the company commander in the Great Patriotic War, is known.
