Where is Everest?

Everest is the mountain that is the highest on earth. Its other names are Chomolungma and Sagarmatha, but for a European these names sound too strange, and for speakers of some languages it is difficult to pronounce at all, therefore we often hear the name Everest more often.

Where is Everest - in the East, on the border of Nepal and China. This is one of the mountains in the Himalayan mountain range. But in fact, the very summit of Everest is located in China.

Everest is not just a high mountain, it is the highest point of the globe.

Everest height according to different sources from 8844 to 8852 meters. And this is almost 9 kilometers, this distance and on the horizontal is quite substantial, and if you imagine it in height, then you have to mentally put dozens of existing skyscrapers on top of each other.

Everest as the highest point of the earth is a tempting goal for climbers, but not everyone is able to reach the top of this mountain. The first ascents began in the early twentieth century, but due to poor equipment they did not reach the summit and stayed a few hundred meters to the summit. And only by 1953 the first group of people finally managed to do it.

There were accidents on Everest and many travelers died either without reaching the summit or returning from it, while in some cases there was no exact information about it.
